American Pharmacists Month
October 1, 2008
October 2008 is American Pharmacists Month. American Pharmacists Month provides a golden opportunity to celebrate the pharmacy profession, recognize your pharmacy staff, and to reach out to your patients. This month-long observance is a channel to conduct special events or to offer new services that will recognize your contribution to the healthcare team.
American Pharmacists Month theme is: Know Your MEDICINE, Know Your PHARMACIST.
The Arizona Pharmacy Alliance and their volunteer pharmacists are kicking off the month by offering their services via an “Ask A Pharmacist” public television special tonight to give FREE advice on medications. According to the lovely AzPA CEO Mindy Rasmussen (pdf):
“We hope Arizonans throughout the state will take advantage of our toll-free number for “Ask a Pharmacist” (1-888-329-7088) and will call-in from 4 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday, October 1,” said Rasmussen. “We also hope everyone will watch our half-hour PBS television special, “Ask A Pharmacist” that night at 7:30 pm,” she added.
